Every man and woman has rights, provided by the Nepali constitution, to have access to information on reproductive health. However, sex education is not provided at school even though family planning information is very important for young and adolescent men and women to ensure safe sex. Nepali families hesitate to share sex education in the home with family members due to cultural and social restrictions. Educating students at school can control sexual disease transmission and can also reduce sexual violence. Therefore we support state schools to provide free sex education using different technologies.
